Burj Khalifa & the Dubai Mall

Dubai - a perfect holiday destination to experience the Arabian culture & hospitality and to indulge in some luxury shopping! It is one of the Emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and a business hub. (UAE is made up of total 7 Emirates namely Abu Dhabi-Capital of the UAE, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain.)

One of the major attraction of Dubai is it's iconic structure - Burj Khalifa. With a total height of 829.8 m and 163 floors, it is one of the the tallest building and the tallest structure in the world situated in Downtown Dubai.  It houses many corporates and suites apart from the observatory decks.
This & a few more pics cost me a fortune to get clicked by the Burj Khalifa Studio at 'The Top' ;)

Tickets to the Observation Deck:

The Observation deck tickets are available on their website https://www.burjkhalifa.ae/en/
It's advisable to book your tickets and time slot well in advance to avoid the last minute disappointment. We had booked almost a month in advance from India. Rates vary according to Prime hours & Non Prime hours and the deck levels.

Observation Decks:

Burj Khalifa is located just beside the Dubai mall.  After the ticket and security check at the ground floor, the world's fastest double deck elevators will cruise you at 10 m/s to reach at the top! The elevator ride itself is a thrilling experience! Depending upon your tickets, you will be allowed to either of the following observation decks:
  1. At the Top, Burj Khalifa (Level 125 & 124): The view is breathtaking - giving you a panoramic-360 degree view of the world from 'the top' as you keep gazing at the Dubai skyline! The level 125 has a Masharabiya motif element that's a tribute to the  art and culture of Arab.
  2. At the Top, Burj Khalifa Sky (Level 148, 125 & 124): At the level 148, you can experience some signature refreshments at the SKY lounge and an outdoor terrace experience.
  3. The Lounge, Burj Khalifa (Level 154, 153 & 152): As you rise to the above levels, the services & facilities keep increasing with a buffet breakfast and much more.
Trying to catch a glimpse of Burj Al Arab-Yes, I could see it from 'The Top' :)

The Dubai Mall:

It is one of the largest shopping mall with around 1200 retailers-mostly high end luxury brands and other attractions. Although, a day might seem too less to explore it completely, following three places are highly recommended to visit:
  • Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo: It's on ground floor and a major attraction at the centre of the Dubai mall. Tickets are available at the counter and advance booking is not really advisable. It is home to around 30,000 plus aquatic animals. The sharks and the stingrays can be viewed through the acrylic panels from the outside of the aquarium as well.
At the Aquarium
  • The Cheesecake Factory: It is located on the ground floor, just near the aquarium in the Dubai mall. A must to visit place to indulge in some extensive selection of cheesecakes, salads and other continental cuisine. The ambience is pleasing and the staff is warm and polite. Being one of our favourite place, we visited this place more then once.
Hungry after shopping & waiting for the food to be served :)
Moma, can I have some cheese cake too :)

  • Candylicious: For all your sweet tooth  cravings and a sweet treat, head on to Candylicious - the ultimate destination for all types of chocolates, candies and gifting items. It has a wide range of organic, sugar free, gluten free, lactose free, vegan chocolates and candies to suit everyone's sweet craving needs.

Incase you still have some energy and time left after a long day, head on to The Dubai Fountain, located on the man-made Burj Khalifa lake in Downtown for a musical fountain show and call it a day! :)
