Mel's Cakes & Sweets - One Stop for all Sweet-Tooth Cravings & Celebrations!

It is said that you are what you eat, so why not eat something sweet! 

Lately, I have been taking this quote too seriously😉 as my cravings for sweets & desserts is inexplicable! I often feed my sweet-tooth by indulging in a lot of sweet items from around places. My tale of irresistible sweet-tooth cravings is long, often trying to please my taste buds with the perfect taste and experience. With every lane in the vicinity having a home baker and much more, we are spoiled with too many options. And accidently, I stumbled upon Mel's Cakes & Sweets

As a customer, my first 'touchpoint' experience with them was when I ordered Easter Eggs from them and Oh boy! I was truly delighted as a customer. First things first - look wise, their packaging, fine detailing on every piece was just 'perfect & professionally appealing' and of course not to forget the taste, it was scrumptious and delectable! Thus, it turned out to be our go to place for all our sweet-tooth needs - may it be cakes, cheese cakes, pies, swiss rolls, assorted cookies, donuts or traditional Christmas sweets. We relished it all!

The best part about Mel's is their 'consistent taste & authenticity' in every item which is an output of their strong legacy of more than three decades  in this profession. 

It all started with a young and enthusiastic girl - Melanie Sampey (the founder) who had a strong passion for baking and cooking since childhood. Her journey began with making mayonnaise and jams during school days to accepting Christmas sweet orders such as marzipan, milkcream, nankaties, tartlets, gauva cheese etc. to basic cakes.

It is said that if you are passionate about a certain thing, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. And as destiny would have it, she was married into a family that had a baking-cum-confectionary business. Her husband, Mr. Sampey too shared the same passion. Truly, a match made in heaven! 😉💖 To hone her baking skills, Melanie did a few professional cake designing courses and in 1993, she made her first 3 tier wedding cake in Vasai.

Then comes the next generation to whom the legacy was passed on - Melissa Sampey. Having raised by parents who were so passionate about baking and making sweets, it was a cakewalk for her to master the art.😉 As a child, she enjoyed making figurines for cakes and later learnt to make edible handmade flowers. Though, a Teacher Educator  (T.E.) by profession, she gave up her full-time job to take forward the family legacy. 

In these three decades, they have made thousands of customized cakes and sweets for a wide rage of customers from Vasai and Mumbai. Some of their sweet items have also crossed the national frontiers to reach UAE, Singapore, Canada, Australia, USA, New Zealand to name a few.
